iPod Music Downloads - Download iPod Music to Your Heart's Content

Downloading iPod music always brings thrill to users whenever they manage to find the tune they are searching for. Just not long ago, when radio was the only free source of music, people would stay tuned to their radio or portable receiver. Then CDs came along, followed by music MP3s. It is apparent that the MP3 player has invaded almost all the modern homes of America. Chances are you would find one MP3 player or more specifically an iPod in the homes since it is the most popular MP3 player. More than 21 million iPods were sold in just the last quarter of 2006 alone, boosted by the Christmas sales. Having a nice gadget with such enhanced capacity to hold hundreds to even thousands of songs and music is not enough. You need to know how and where to get hold of unlimited iPod music downloads in order to do justice to your iPod.

When people think of iPod music downloads, the first place they would think of is iTunes. If you do a quick review, you would discover that they have a wide selection of over 3.5 million songs, movies and over 200 TV shows, over 20,000 audio books, games etc. Prices range from $0.99 for a music track, and movies retail at $9.99 per movie, while TV show sells at $1.99 per episode. Frankly, thats quite a large database of iPod media files and there are old fans who stick with it since thats probably the very first site that they knew and got their first iPod music downloads.

However, there are others who feel that it is ridiculously expensive if they want to beef up a private stash of music and songs with tons of iPod music downloads. Naturally, they would switch to downloading iPod music at free download sites like Kazaa or Limewire. Why should anyone bother to download iPod music that comes with a price tag each time you do so People quickly figured this out and as a result, huge demand for free iPod music downloads ensued. More download sites using the same concept as Kazaa pop up.

But there are some problems with downloading iPod music at sites like Kazaa. These download sites would expose your computer system to malware such as viruses, adware and spyware. In exchange for downloading iPod music for free, you are obliged to view those pop-up advertisements, or commercial ads. Needless to say, this would badly affect your PCs performance such as speed and memory and its functionality. Imagine the kind of trouble you would be in should your PC crash on you and wipe out all your important files and documents. The reformatting, reinstallation and so on so forth is something most people would love to avoid.

Business owners saw the loopholes and pitfalls in these free iPod music downloads sites. In meeting the ever-increasing demand for cheap music downloads for iPod, new membership sites that offer lifetime access to millions of iPod music files, music videos, and other media files like business audio books, TV shows and movies came into the music scene. Instead of a pay-per-download fee structure, they go for a one-time fee based concept. Various download sites charge a different fee but it is generally in the low range of $40. The music community, especially iPod users has welcomed such a refreshing change. Music enthusiasts can now access to as many iPod music downloads as they wish, without expensive charges under an environment safe from malware attacks.

Lose Weight With Your Ipod Shuffle

Many of us ate too much at Christmas, drunk too much at Christmas and didnt do any exercise to burn off the excess calories. I am one of those people but luckily for me (or unluckily for me, depending on your viewpoint) Father Christmas delivered for me a tiny little present sent from the Gods in the name of an iPod shuffle.

This tiny little box of tricks ( you must of seen the ads on television about them) is what gets me round the field that is just 50 yards backing on to my house, otherwise known as hell on earth. Those of you of a certain age will remember the Sony Walkman. Yes, thats right, that chunky tape cassette player which we all clunked around with us, trying to look very cool.

I have to admit I am very new to all this MP3 technology. In fact my computer or PC is about 7 years old and with the help of my 16 year old son I managed to install the software which is required to transfer downloaded songs from the internet or music CD from the disk drive onto the iPod. I was very sceptical on how such a small piece of equipment would actually play music and if I am totally honest the quality is very good, much better than my old 12 inch vinyl records.

So how does all this help in my never ending quest to loose weight and get fit Well, I choose my music very carefully. None of this rubbish teen, hip hop, gangster in your face trash. I like to choose motivational tracks for my iPod. Anthems from bands like U2, The Darkness and Metallica are personal favourite and you just cant beat the theme from War of the Worlds to get your blood pumping and inspire you run (or walk in my case) that little extra distance.

So what are the actual mechanics of using your iPod Well, firstly after you open the natty little box, usually the MP3 player needs charging up. Simply plug in the charge lead into your PC port which must be USB, if your PC does not a USB port then you can get an adapter. I have an adapter on my computer because it is ancient like me!

Next, when little light changes colour or stops flashing you know that your MP3 player is charged from your PC. You now have to access the software from Apple. It is called iTunes and basically it is the software interface that allows you to transfer songs from your computer to your iPod. Always perform checks to make sure you have the latest version by accessing the official site at Apple. The whole process is easy (it must be if I did it) and before long you will have all your favourite tracks neatly bundled onto your iPod. No more scratched records or damaged album sleeves, marvellous. I have yet to find out on how to remove tracks from my iPod but I guess I have my son to help me on that score.

iPod Music Downloads - Free or Cheap Download Is Better

iPod music downloads are available to music lovers either for free or at a cost. It can be perplexing to users as to why some sites could offer music downloads for free while some charges a fee. Lets dwell a little deeper into the world of online iPod music and find out whether it is better to download free music or pay for your iPod music downloads.

When talking about free iPod music downloads, we are referring to downloading music files directly from sources such as Kazaa or LimeWire. These sites are essentially file sharing networks or what we term as peer-to-peer (P2P) networks where the music files are shared.

Now, there are some concerns associated with downloading free music from these networks. One potential problem could be the legality of the iPod music downloads. There could be instances where copyrighted music is uploaded and shared. This is in direct violation of copyright laws. Users could be toeing the line when downloading these copyrighted music files. While this may be true, there are millions of files that are uploaded by amateur musicians and singers who use these sites as a platform to share their music and songs and to launch their careers. These files are completely legal to download. In fact, talent scouting folks do scour these sites in search of the next Big Thing.

There are a host of other shortcomings you may have to deal with if you are considering if you should get some iPod music downloads from these specific sites. The security and protection from attacks of adware, spyware and viruses, or rather the lack of it when downloading the iPod music files is a cause for concern. The downloading speeds could be incredibly slow and the audio quality of the songs and music can be exceptionally poor. Some users have also complained that the songs are incomplete. You wouldnt want to trade your precious time to download such iPod music that isnt worth listening to. So it seems that there is some truth in the saying, There arent any Free Lunch in this world.

On the flipside of the industry is another group of iPod music downloads sites that have recently emerged. These sites offer users memberships to access millions of music and music video download files. Its not free definitely, but you would be surprised to know that the price of lifetime memberships costs lesser than what you would be paying for a full-length music video DVD at some stores. Word has spread among the online music community that the problems discussed earlier about downloading iPod music files are non-existent at these download sites. It makes sense now why increasing numbers of people are turning to these sites to satisfy their iPod music hunger. Learn more at my blog about which are the iPod music sites that are fast gaining status as top sites for iPod music downloads.

iPod Replacement Batteries

It’s been a long while since you have gotten your iPod, and maybe you feel its time to ask around about replacement iPod batteries. Maybe you have noticed several battery issues already, and think that battery replacement is the solution.

Apple itself offers an iPod Battery Replacement Program. If your iPod’s battery does not hold electrical charge as well as it used to, or in other words if its battery life has shortened, but is otherwise unharmed, Apple can replace the iPod. There is a service fee of $59, plus $6.95 for shipping.

This option is of course the most reliable choice for battery replacement. The iPod itself is replaced with a new, used, or refurbished unit. The service may not be available; however, if your existing unit has been exposed to accident or abuse and has been damaged because of these.

Availing of this service is easy if you have access to the internet. On the Apple support website, you will find an iPod service request form. After checking and reading the terms and conditions, on-screen instructions will be available to guide you through the rest of the steps in getting your iPod’s battery replaced.

The data and music on the iPod will not be preserved, so it would be best to back the iPod up using iTunes on your computer before submitting it for service. The replacement iPod usually ships back in a week or so - or in two to three weeks if the original iPod had been personalized by Apple (the replacement unit will automatically be personalized with the same text).

Third party replacement batteries are also available. These are usually cheaper than having your iPod replaced by Apple. As mentioned before, if the iPod has been damaged by accident or abuse it may not be eligible for the official Apple service program anymore. These third party solutions would be the only choice in that case.

The iPod’s case was not designed to be opened by users, but these third party batteries usually come with tools and detailed instructions for doing just that. Less tech-savvy users may want to stay away from the do-it-yourself battery replacement options: saving some tens of dollars is well and good, but what if you’re tinkering costs you the iPod itself?

These users might want to inquire about the unofficial services available that would replace their iPods’ batteries for them, at about two-thirds of Apple’s price. These services also usually do not replace the actual iPod unit, but only the battery, unlike Apple’s service.

Whether you have Apple replace your iPod battery (and your iPod itself) or purchase instead replacement iPod batteries from a third party manufacturer, good care will prolong the life of your new batteries. Guides to the proper charging and use of these batteries are available in Apple’s own support documentation, as well as in other places on the internet.
