New iPod Accessories

With the ever-increasing popularity of the iPod and all its various forms, it follows that more and more accessories will become both important and appealing to iPod owners. Here are three new accessories that iPod owners may want to consider purchasing.

Podolock
The Podolock is a hard acrylic case for the iPod mini that helps to secure it from theft or unauthorized use. Along with the case is a cable that goes through the top of the case that enables the user to dock the iPod to a table, steering wheel, or other stable base. With the increasing numbers of iPods being stolen, cases like these may become handy for iPod owners. Podolocks will begin shipping next month and will be available for about $20, with the cables ranging from about $10 to $20.

TuffWrap Accent
TuffWrap Accents are new cases for iPod Video that will protect the devices from scratches and bumps. Optional inserts protect the screen and click wheel. There are three options for these two-tone silicone cases: blue and gray, yellow and black, red and black. The cases also feature ribbed sides for a more secure grip, and the texture of the overall case prevents the iPod from sliding unnecessarily. TuffWrap Accents sell for about $29.95.

Iconz
Iconz are stylish and fun durable cases that feature a logo, icons, or images that cover the face of the iPod Video. The backs of the cases are translucent, and the Iconz feature play-through control for the click wheel and integrated screen protection. Available images include cartoon and/or movie icons such as the Superman or Batman logo, your favorite MLB team, or your NBA team. Iconz with NBA images including a team and, in some cases, a player are available for the iPod Nano. Iconz for the iPod Video are available for about $29.95, while the Iconz for the iPod Nano are available for about $24.95.

Noise Pollution Going Down Thanks to iPods

Before the iPod many people blasted their Boom Boxes and Portable Stereos in Public. Now we see a little less of that these days, as the new iPod is about to outsell the all the boom boxes ever produced. Can you believe that one consumer personal high tech device could eliminate all that noise? Many older people are quite happy to see the quiet come about and are glad to see the kids are dancing along not bothering anyone. Of course if they knew what these kids were dancing too, well perhaps they might change their minds a bit; who knows?

Some say this is only the beginning of the human civilization peace and quiet. How so you ask? Well so far the quiet has been noticed and iPods are only on their original roll out, in fact they had completely ran out for Christmas in 2005. The iPod Nano, iPod Shuffle and iPod Mini was out of stock in just about every retail box store outlet and also on the online company store too.

Now they are making the iPod as fast as they can, but cannot keep up with demand and this trend is still a baby learning to walk. A baby who will grow up and learn to dance on an iPod in a town near you. A peaceful quiet town with out all that Gangster Rap with eardrum breaking thumps. Thin on this in 2006.

Organizing Your Music - The MP3 / iPod Revolution

The days of CD racks are going away. They are being replaced by iPods and other mp3 players that can put entire music libraries in the palm of your hand. Take it wherever you like, listen to your library in the car, at the gym, at home and at work. And by jumping into the world of digital music files you free up all that space now designated for CDs. The process is simple. There are many software packages and devices available to make the change a painless one. I recommend iTunes software (it's free) and an iPod (not so free, but worth it).

Prices for an iPod range from $99 for the shuffle which holds a half gig to $399 for the whopping 60 gig storage with video capabilities. A rough guide is that each gig holds about 250 songs or 25 albums. But don't worry about getting an iPod that can hold your entire library, your computer can do that for you, and you can easily rotate the music contents of your music player at will. Getting your music into your computer is made simple by iTunes. Once the software is installed all you have to do is put your CDs into the computer and push a button. Really! It is that easy. The software will do the rest. It will go online and download the CD information such as song names and album names, and it will copy the songs onto your hard drive.

Once all of your music CDs are copied onto your computer pack them up and put them in storage. You can now use the shelves that used to be for CDs for something else a little more stylish and listening to your music will be a lot easier. No more shuffling through CDs to find the right album. Now it is all in the palm of your hand and in your computer. Many of these devices also make it easy to play your music through your existing stereo. Apple even has a wireless option that will beam your music to your stereo without the use of messy cables. I prefer to use an adapter that plugs my iPod mini (very stylish) directly into the stereo. That way I have my music in whatever room or office I am working in.

I hope this helps you to free up a little space in your home or office and makes your favorite music more accessible.
